Meaningful Menus are a resource for parents and educators looking for an open-and-go way to foster connection with kids through poetry, songs, and more.
Whether snuggled together on the couch, around the kitchen table, or in the classroom, Meaningful Menus make it easy to enjoy the closeness that comes from reading and singing together.
How do I know that something as simple as a menu can create connection? I've seen it in my own home!
I'm Ashley Antkowiak, the founder of Meaningful Menus. I'm a home educating mom of 5 kids under 10 years old, and although I wanted to enjoy "the riches" (like music and poetry) with my kids, I found that they never made it to the top of our to-do list.
I never seemed to have what I needed on hand, which meant that I usually put off covering those things with my kids. When we started using menus for those subjects, though, everything clicked into place. I went from feeling scattered and disorganized to feeling completely on top of it! Now we can pull out our menus any time we want to read and sing together, and connect with each other for a few minutes even on the busiest of days. My kids and I have learned so many beautiful poems and songs through our Menus, and have had inside jokes and big conversations as a result.
I knew that I wanted to find a way to offer the same experience to other families and educators, and so I created Meaningful Menus. With Meaningful Menus you, too, can create the family culture or warm, inviting classroom environment you dream about in less than 20 minutes a day.
